Lydia Cottrell

I am a dancer that creates multi-disciplinary performance.
I also spend a lot of time on the internet.
I make performance, curate, produce, write and interrogate culture and technology through my work.

My practice is informed by a background in dance, live art and music. This has led me to create work that provides a social commentary and contains elements from altered disciplines.

My main areas of research focus on the Performance of Self in online spaces and I am currently experimenting with ways of appropriating digital and mobile technologies to create intimate performance experiences.

Alongside my own practice, I work as one half of 70/30 Split, I am also the co-founder and co-director of SLAP in York.
