Jez Wells is a sound recordist and audio designer. After graduating from the Tonmeister programme at the University of Surrey in 1994 he moved to London where he worked for Digital Audio Research and Fairlight, as well as teaching. He moved to York in 2000 where her undertook a Masters and then a PhD in Music Technology. He held teaching and research positions in the Department of Electronic Engineering before moving to the Department of Music in 2012 where he is currently a senior lecturer. His research is focussed on sound recording and music signal processing.
