Internship Programme
As part of our long term commitment to talent development, the internships are for early-career individuals interested in creative production and in helping us bring ideas and commissions to life. We will prioritise applications from individuals based in York & North Yorkshire.
This exciting programme of internships is a great opportunity for young creatives to gain more experience in the arts, working with a dynamic team of producers and a roster of world-class artists to create work of national and international significance.
We’ll be running three four-month properly paid internships throughout the year, each focussed on a different specialism and paired with one of our amazing producers: Immersive Storytelling, Music, and Visual and Performance. The intern will receive 1-1 mentoring from their ‘line manager’, as well as working on one or more of our exciting upcoming projects.
The timeline for these will be:
-
- Immersive Storytelling: May-August 2022 – APPLICATIONS CLOSED
- Visual & Performance: September – December 2022
- Music: January – April 2023
We would especially welcome applicants who identify as being from an under-represented group in the creative industries. This includes, but is not limited to, Black, Asian and ethnically diverse candidates, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Artist and talent development is at the heart of what we do, and we’re so excited to be able to offer these opportunities to work within the arts.

Beginning an internship at Mediale allowed me the opportunity to work with a ridiculously talented and supportive team, with specialisms across the board and a real desire to help me find my footing in the industry.
Throughout my internship, I felt that the team really believed in me and wanted to help me grow, and that’s why I think a role at Mediale is such a great starting point in anyone’s creative career. Over the past 12 months, I’ve been able to build on this amazing foundation to continue to grow and be challenged in my full-time role at Mediale.
