Talent Development Partner

Our commitment to developing artists’ creative practice is fundamental to the public purpose of the festival. Addressing challenges we will develop a new way of working that benefits both the creators and contributors of our development programme.

From enabling R&D, to workshops to funding residency opportunities. Supporting our artist development programme can benefit businesses and brands internally as well as externally.

Case Study: Token Homes

In 2018, we organised a residency for Matthews Plummer Fernandez in collaboration with Fluxaxis – a new £1m+ 3D printing start-up. The result was one of the festival’s most iconic and most prominent artworks. Token Homes was a 3D fabricated sculpture place in the heart of the city that was seen by hundreds of thousands of people.

“It has been inspiring to work with Matthew throughout York Mediale’s Artist in Residence programme. The collaboration has pushed us to explore new ways to use our technology to realise creative art.”
